Sandwich Cooker

March 30, 2008

Good morning, today I’d going to show you a website that is dear to my heart.  It’s www.SandwichCooker.com and they sell camping Pie irons, Pudgy Pie, or Mountain pie irons..  Well you get the picture.  Right?  They sell camping gear.

They sell, Pie iron Sandwich cookers of all shapes and sizes.  Like round, Square, and cast iron and aluminum.  like Double pie, and the panini or even a waffle maker.

They sell campfire or fireplace popcorn poppers, roasting and toasting forks, even this think called a bread maker.. to make bread over a campfire or fireplace.  Very awesome..!

The item I’d like to showcase today is Hot dog, Bratwurst, or cornbread maker..!

Dog n’ Brat/Cornbread Cooker – Cast Iron
Beer dogs, brats & onions, grilled sausages?
You Betcha! The Dog n’ Brat/Cornbread Cooker
lets you cook ‘em all over the fire while sealing in
the juices. The cooking cavity holds 3 at a time.
Cornbread and other quick breads are simple to
make as well. With our cast iron design, you’ll
get the meat sizzling without being charred by the
exposure of open flame.

They sell them for $34.95 and I’ve also seen them at several other sites such as Pie Iron USA, Pudgy Pies, and others.

Earth Hour

March 30, 2008

I encourage everyone to go to the Earth Hour site and explore the information and learn more about the cause.

Earth Hour“, what an idea.. It seems to have worked.  It’s amazing how you can create an idea in today’s world and turn it into a worldwide event in just one year.

The whole purpose is for everyone to realize and wake-up to the amount of energy we all use and also to note how easy it could be to save just a little.

Earth hour was on March 29th at 8pm in your local time zone.  The idea is to turn OFF your lights for just one hour.  Originally created in Sidney Australia has blossomed to a worldwide event.  Moscow, Chicago, over 200 major cities, and millions of people joined us in turning out the lights.

Funny story about “Earth Hour” was my wife and I were out shopping and my 8 year old son called us from his cell about 7:55 and asked if we were coming home soon (he wasn’t alone, our teenage daughter was with him). He was concerned that we were going to be out and about when the lights went off..!

We explained to him that the power would still be on, but that we were planning to turn them off ourselves…   He thought..  How can Earth get the help it needs if only a few people to it.. I later brought up the Earth Hour site and explained that millions of people joined us in turning out the lights.  He was glad we did and hoped Earth got the message that we care.

Here are a few photos on My family and I celebrating “Earth Hour“.

Marshmallow, Hot Dog, or Roasting forks?

March 28, 2008

Today’s Product:  The Giant Roasting Fork…!  this fork is the staple of American roasting forks.  This for is 41 inches in length, and is made of quality strong steel.  Put simply, it’s the grand daddy of forks.  yet, a simple design.  the Giant roasting fork can be found at sites like Camping Forks, Marshmallow Forks, and other sites such as Pie Iron USA all of which seem to sell it for around $19.95 for a four pack.

That is the Question.  What do you call a stick made usually of metal but could be wood.  A pointed end or possible more than one end.  Sometimes the tines are forward, other times for safety forks the tines are reversed.  Even yet, Rome’s new Marshmallow Tree the tines are pointing in lots of directions.

And where can you use these forks?  Are they Camping forks? or are they meant for the Fireplace?  Can you use them over a patio fire or maybe just a bonfire.  I think the answer is Yes to the above..

I can imagine that hotdog and marshmallow forks have been around for hundreds of years and will continue to be around for many more to come.  Some of today’s retailers have really come to sell every shape and size they can find.  Such a retail is CampingForks.com, I tell you there site is full of color and surprises.  They even have a virtual campfire to pretend you’re roasting your marshmallow with the camping fork that you just bought.  The one That I liked the most was the Rome Marshmallow tree that they sell, the tree is an awesome idea and I think should sell well.

Pie Irons – the Pudgy Pie – hobo Pie

March 27, 2008

Good morning, today I want to tell you about a product that we sell on our sites.  It’s the Rome Pudgy Pie Iron.  It’s two pieces of cast iron shaped to create a pocket.  Folks have been cooking with these for years and years.  Most likely started with making sandwiches with the square version to making pies with this version the round one.  We have created all kinds of goodies with these..  Like corn muffins, pancakes, hash browns, fried potato’s, brownies, and more.

These are so simple, and so easy to use it’s no wander why they are very popular at camp sites around the world.  but did you know you could use these at home as well.  If you have a burner, you can easily use these in your home.  The outdoor grill works well too..  Simply place the pie iron on your grill and cook-up your favorite treats…..

Ok, here’s the skinny, you can purchase these at several website’s on the net. Like Pie Iron USA, Pudgy Pies, Sandwich Cooker, and others.

Pie Irons, Pudgy Pies, Mountain Pies, or even hobo Pies.. whatever you call them, we call the good..  You name it you can cook in it.

These are a must for any camping trip.

Everyone have a great day.  Tomorrow, I’ll show you another product..! Mike Franks

Days 46 & 47 My Wife’s Birthday

March 26, 2008

good day, Yesterday the 25th was my wife’s birthday.  She’s now 37…  I can say that because now that she’s 37 and I’m ONLY 36 she is much older than I…

Today I’m working on camping fun shop changing it up a bit and hopefully making it a bit easier to sell pie irons camping forks and other camping and outdoor open fire cooking items.

Everyone have a great day.. go camping..!

Day 42 – 45 – Monday

March 24, 2008

Good Morning, Well.. It looks like I’ve skipped a few days of blogging.  With the holiday and the in-laws I’m not sure how I got anything done…

This past weekend I decided not to work, or at least not work much.
I took Friday off and spent it with my family, and did the same for the weekend.  I’m pretty sure we had a good time.
Today I’m waiting on an order from Wilcor International of camping items for www.firepies.com.  I’m not sure how, but it seems that I can’t get them to change the address to the office versus here at home.  So I’ll stay home until they come, then head to the office to ship when they get here.

This week my kids are on spring break, meaning they will be home all week and most likely bored…
I’m planning on taking them a time or two to the office and maybe giving me a hand and things. My daughter enjoys using a camera and I’m sure I could use a few pictures taken of some product for any of our sites like www.campingforks.com or www.marshmallowforks.com, or even www.pieironusa.com for the pie iron and pudgy pie irons..  I’m not sure how to photograph roasting, toasting and camping forks.  (ok, enough plugging)..

Anyway’s, today I’m planning on working on a new site, www.hobopies.com and others.

Have a great day everyone.!  Mike

Day 41 – www.MarshmallowForks.com

March 20, 2008

Good Morning, Well I’m sure you’ve figured it out by now.  Today I’m working on www.Marshmallowforks.com. I plan to make some pretty good changes including adding a video to the site as a test.  Yes, a video.  Most likely a simple video simply welcoming folks to the site and inviting them to browse the site and to give us comments on our site.  We’re really curious what the reaction will be.

I’m also planning on creating a new site, www.HoboPies.com and selling pie irons and such on it as well.  Only making it a bit different than some of our other sites.  I think it will look awesome.. Check it out soon.

Well, Last night my daughter had her birthday and it seemed to go ok.  I think she had a pretty good time.  I did tell you yesterday that I had baked a cake so I thought I’d upload a photo of the cake. (ok, hide the cake, and show the daughter)

So, Here it is…!

ambi

Have a great day everyone..!

Day 40 – My Daughters Birthday

March 19, 2008

Good day, well today is my daughters 15th birthday.  This means within the next 6 months she’ll want her driving permit and want to drive…  Actually I kinda look forward to teaching her.  Although ask me that again in 7 months and I might tell you otherwise.
This also means that in a year she’ll want to drive and get a job…  Now that I do look forward to.  giving her a chance to get her feet wet in the real world.
I actually baked the cake for you today.  Yes, I did.. I baked the cake..  I think I did pretty good, and she said it looked just fine…  So I figure it’s ok.  not doing much special for her, just a cake, and dinner out.  Oh, and that sims2 game extras.. H & M style stuff.

Speaking of Sims , I noticed today that have added a new Sims 3 link at http://thesims3.ea.com and you can check out the latest in the Sims arena ….!

During the cold winter months, seems my family sit around the warm home, and play Sims when we can’t get outside.  funny thing I always make my Sims go camping…..lol…..

Anyway’s, everyone have a great day and happy birthday Amber.

oh.. and the plug.. check out www.Campingforks.com

Day 38 – St Patrick’s Day

March 17, 2008

Good morning everyone.  Today is green day.  the day to wear green so you won’t get pinched..  Depending on who’s doing the pinching depends on wether I wear green?…lol

Anyway, today I’m going to review some old photos of the Mansfield reformatory and of Kalahari resorts that we took in the 360 format.  I’m going to attempt to revive that part of the business and to get  the www.seemy360.com site up and running and profitable as well.

I also, might contact the Mansfield reformatory and see about coming out again and doing another shot of the DVD…  I might have to do a presentation or something.

Have a great day everyone.!  Mike
